Now, an increasing number of Chinese people cannot live without their mobile phones, many of whom, including the elderly, use social networking applications to be in touch with people and expand their circle of friends. They also use these portable devices for online shopping and looking for information. In addition, the cost of communication through the social networking applications is much cheaper than that through the traditional telephone. However,this new trend makes people rely too much on communication through such networking apps. In fact, some young people become so addicted to the cyber world that they pay too little attention to the face-to-face communication with their family members and friends.
