In the past, Chinese people spent most of their time making a living and seldom had the opportunity to travel leisurely. However, China’s tourism industry has developed rapidly in recent years. Economic prosperity and the emergence of an affluent middle class have triggered an unprecedented tourism boom. Not only do Chinese people travel at home, travelling abroad has also become more and more common. During the National holiday of 2016, the consumption of tourism adds up to more than 400 billion yuan. According to WTO’s estimate, China will become the world’s largest tourist country by 2020. China is expected to become the fastest-growing country in the outbound tourism expenditures in the next few years.
